About EcoVac

A different way to think about hydrovac material.

EcoVac Solutions is a hydrovac slurry processing and material recovery facility located in Etobicoke, Ontario, serving hydrovac operators, contractors and infrastructure projects throughout Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.

We started with a fairly straightforward idea: the material coming out of the ground shouldn't automatically be treated as waste.

Hydrovac slurry contains resources that still have value. Our facility is designed to separate and recover those resources, turning incoming liquid soil into aggregate, sand, clay and treated water that can be put back to use where appropriate.

It's a practical approach to a practical problem.

Why EcoVac?

Hydrovac is an essential part of construction and infrastructure work across the GTA. Every excavation also produces slurry that needs to be transported and managed once it leaves the jobsite.

That's where EcoVac comes in.

Rather than focusing only on receiving and dewatering hydrovac material, our process is built around material recovery.

Incoming non-hazardous hydrovac slurry is separated into individual streams so that usable resources can be recovered rather than treating the entire load as one mixed waste stream.

Aggregate. Sand. Clay. Treated water.

Four materials already contained in the slurry, given another opportunity for use.

Built Around Material Recovery

Our Etobicoke facility was designed specifically for processing hydrovac slurry and liquid soil.

The process separates incoming material into distinct streams, allowing each component to be managed individually and directed toward appropriate reuse opportunities.

That means looking beyond the immediate question of where hydrovac slurry can be tipped and asking another one:

What happens to the material afterwards?

For us, that's where the real opportunity is.

From the Jobsite to What Happens Next

EcoVac works closely with 24/7 Vacuum Excavation, connecting hydrovac work in the field with material processing after the truck leaves the site.

24/7 handles the jobsite side of the process, providing hydrovac and vacuum excavation services across Toronto and the GTA.

EcoVac handles what happens next.

Non-hazardous hydrovac slurry can be transported to our Etobicoke facility, where it is processed into recoverable material streams.

Together, that creates a clear path through the material lifecycle:

Excavate → Transport → Process → Recover → Reuse

Circular Economy, in Practical Terms

We talk about circular economy because it describes what we're actually trying to do.

Recover useful material.

Keep it in circulation where appropriate.

Reuse water.

Reduce the amount of material that needs to be treated as waste.

For our customers, that can also create measurable information around material recovery, landfill diversion and water reuse that can support their own sustainability goals and reporting.

We prefer specific, defensible outcomes over broad environmental claims. If we can measure it, we can talk about it.

The Materials We Recover

Hydrovac slurry arrives as one mixed material. Our process separates it into resources that can be managed individually.

Aggregate

Stone and aggregate recovered from incoming hydrovac slurry for appropriate construction and reuse applications.

Sand

Clean recovered sand separated and screened for appropriate reuse opportunities.

Clay

Fine clay material recovered and managed separately for applications where the required specifications are met.

Treated Water

Water separated from hydrovac slurry, treated and recovered for reuse in hydrovac operations.

Local Facility. GTA Focus.

EcoVac operates from our facility in Etobicoke, Ontario, serving hydrovac operators, contractors, utilities and infrastructure projects throughout Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.

Being close to the work matters. Hydrovac trucks spend enough time on the road already.

Our goal is to provide a practical receiving and processing option while giving customers a better answer to the question of what happens to their material once it leaves the jobsite.

A Better Use for the Material Already There

EcoVac exists because we think hydrovac material can be managed differently.

Not everything that comes out of the ground needs to become waste.

By separating hydrovac slurry into aggregate, sand, clay and treated water, we can recover useful resources, create opportunities for reuse and help reduce reliance on landfill.

It's not complicated. Make better use of what we already have.
